Margot Polo Drops New Single "Dance with Me"
California-based indie pop artist Margot Polo, the solo project of producer David Provenzano, has just unveiled his brand new single Dance with Me, an upbeat, synth-laced dance gem.

This song is awesome guys. I was drawn to it after the very first seconds thanks to the beautiful and groovy guitar riffs! His cool vocals flow effortlessly over the upbeat electronic production which consists of the awesome guitar riffs, throbbing trap bass, handclaps, and 4-on-the-floor beat. Dance with Me is a super infectious and hypnotic track that will make you want to dance! Stream it below!

Speaking about the song Margot said,
This track is about the night I met my wife at a bar, where my band at the time was playing. I remember thinking 'whoa, this is a really cute girl'. I was totally thrown off my game. I was so awkward, I didn't even ask for her number. I sometimes wonder what it would have been like if I had been more confident in that moment, what it would be like to be one of those guys who can just walk up to a girl and say 'fuck it, I like you. Let's make something happen.' This song is me rewriting that night from that guy's perspective.

The song is built around a two-chord sample texture that I put on a loop. I threw in a four-on-the-floor dance beat, experimented with claps, drum machine, and snare, and layered a thick and buzzy synth bass over a sub bass synth part. Basing the whole song on this simple, two-chord progression allowed me to challenge myself to be more inventive, making the parts distinct through vocal melodies and guitar parts and playing with dynamics and other elements of the arrangement over a very clean and straightforward foundation.
This coming fall, Margot Polo plans to begin recording a new EP, for release at the beginning of 2019.
