Odette Unveils Breathtaking New Track "Lotus Eaters"
20-year-old Sydney-based singer songwriter Odette returns with her new single Lotus Eater, the latest instalment from this gifted young artist, following on from ‘Watch Me Read You’, ‘Collide’ and ‘Take It The Heart’.

I'm in love with this piano-based track, a cool mix of spoken word and a soulful song. Her vocals are outstanding and her soulful delivery makes this a standout track which sets the tone for her debut album. Stream it below!

Speaking about ‘Lotus Eaters’ Odette explains,
“I wrote ‘Lotus Eaters’ when I was around fifteen and it was my first ever spoken word. I listen back to this and I hear a very conflicted teenager. This song means a great deal to me so I’m very excited for people to hear it before the album comes out.”
‘Lotus Eaters’ will be the last track to drop ahead of ‘To A Stranger’, which is released on July 6th through EMI Music Australia.

A self-described “geeky kid performing in primary school assemblies”, Odette’s first influences emerged at home. Her South African mother introduced her to soul and funk, while her father’'s side of the family is responsible for connecting her to the keys. “Odette says,
My grandad was a jazz pianist during the war. “He’'s been a huge influence on me, especially his taste and musicality.”
