Joell
Time for some beautiful R&B! Rising Scottish alt-R&B singer, songwriter and music producer Joell has just unveiled his brand new single Liquor, taken from his haunting debut EP, Ignorance, available digitally via online streaming platforms on June 29th.

Liquor is a smooth piece of experimental/contemporary R&B, with an infectious beat that serves as background to his sensual, dulcet vocals. Loving his falsetto which immediately reminds me of The Weeknd. Joell is an incredible storyteller, he caught my attention from start to finish and it's songs like these that I am happy to share with you. Enjoy his lush vocals below!

Joell's upcoming debut EP Ignorance combines leftfield hip hop, experimental RnB and a modern trap twist, accompanied by his melodic vocals.

Working out of the same studio with good friends, Young Fathers, in Edinburgh, Joell takes listeners on a journey with his dark, melodic sounds, bass driven, 808 drum patterns and savvy metaphorical lyrics, Joell paints a picture of life in modern society and his fight against mundane living.

Speaking about the EP Joell said:
Everything was created and self funded by myself and my friends, self taught individuals, from a basement in young fathers studio in Leith, Edinburgh. Scotland’s stuck in its traditional ways, especially with regards to hip hop music. This project has taken me a year to package up and through music I can finally express my experience of the ups and downs of modern day youth, life and love. I don’t believe in conforming to todays society and the aim of ‘Ignorance’ is to push listeners to be different, be unique, be creative and be yourself.
Joel has also unveiled a short film for his EP and you can check it out below!
