Citizen of the World
Australian Folk-rock 5-piece Citizen Of The World have unveiled their brand new single Free To Go. Building upon their more folk-based background, the Sydney five-piece are now producing sonically huge modern indie, captured perfectly in each heartfelt note of Free To Go.

Loving that crescendo of keys, saxophones and emotive vocals. As the song winds its way through a narrative of heartbreak, it is obvious through the complexities of the music that Citizen Of The World have come into their own as songwriters. Stream it below!

Produced by Rob Andrew at The Grove Studios, Free To Go is a sign of things to come – a song that builds new and interesting layers on top of the foundations of the band's previous work. Providing the incentive to keep pushing forward, the release of Free To Go is a precursor to a second EP, with the band well on their way towards releasing new music this year. Having already proven the versatility and mainstream appeal of their music, Citizen Of The World now find themselves driven by the desire to take their music as far and wide across the globe as possible.

Formed by singer-songwriter Gerrit Gmel in his hometown of Lausanne, Switzerland, the band truly kicked into gear when he moved to Sydney in 2013. Upon finding like-minded musicians, Gmel built Citizen Of The World as a bombastic folk outfit, releasing preliminary singles How Far We've Come and Setting Out to an instantly positive response.

A year later, with the release of their Memories In My Head EP that picked up triple j airplay for In The Moment, it was clear from their progression that Citizen Of The World were not to tread the same ground twice.
