Sivu premieres video for ‘Kin & Chrome’
Alternative artist Sivu has premiered the video for Kin & Chrome, the next single from his critically acclaimed second album, Sweet Sweet Silent. This is such a stunning single guys and is the starkest and perhaps most achingly direct moment of Sivu’s career
to date, using little more than raw guitar, lilting piano and strings
to build to its quietly affecting crescendo. Watch the visuals below!
Speaking about Kin & Chrome Sivu said,
To me, this song is the closest I could get to a love song. I’m very fortunate to have my partner and she puts up with a lot, so this is a song about being thankful to her.Kin & Chrome is an undoubted highlight across Sweet Sweet Silent, Sivu’s contemplative, acutely personal but ultimately uplifting second album. The record was conceived in sometimes-exceptional circumstances: in particular, against the backdrop of James’ diagnosis with Meniere’s syndrome, a condition also shared by the likes of Ryan Adams which has seen his hearing increasingly deteriorate in the past two years (and for which he already needs to wear a hearing aid).
Written and recorded over two years between Cambridge, Brixton and very northern Scotland, Sweet Sweet Silent is nonetheless loud and clear on the considerable talents of Sivu.
James (Sivu) has also confirmed details of an intimate headline London show at
King’s Place (with accompaniment from The Mangan String Quartet) for
February 15th 2018, which is on sale today. With additional support
across Radio 1, 6Music, Radio X, Spotify and Apple Music, Sivu’s This
Unfruitful Love EP – containing ‘Kin & Chrome’, all-new material
and exclusive reworks from across the album – will be unveiled across
the coming months and see a release on February 16th.
