Amber-Simone reveals soulful debut ‘Taught Me Better’
Time for some fresh music guys, and this one is amazing! Hotly-tipped singer/songwriter Amber-Simone has unveiled her soulful debut single Taught Me Better, due for release on Juicebox Recordings. I adore those guitar chords and her irresistible vocals! The song is the kind of infectious slow jam reminiscent of cinematic scores, 80s guitars and early 90s R&B with a seductive beat and soulful melody. Stream it below!
Having been singing since she was 16, 20-year-old Amber’s sound is unique and powerful citing Millie Womack, and Michael Jackson as her influences. Speaking about songwriting Amber said:
I like to transport myself to either dawn or sunset and think of the different things those settings make me think or what I might have experienced in those moments.
Growing up in east London and then moving to Hertfordshire in her early teens, Amber listened to funk and soul music throughout her childhood, a sound which has very much impacted her own music.
Taught Me Better offers the first taste of what's in store for Amber-Simone and it's a promising glimpse to say the least.
