M.I.A. Unveils New Single 'Freedun' ft. ZAYN
M.I.A. has finally unveiled her highly anticipated collaboration with former One Direction member Zayn Malik. The song is called Freedun and premiered today via BBC Radio 1. Loving those drums and airy sounds. M.I.A.'s distinctive musical style combined with Zayn's pop appeal works really well. The song was produced by Polow Da Don. Speaking of the song M.I.A. said:
It just kind of happened. I sort of made this song a long time ago and it was just always sort of like too mainstream sounding for me. It just seems like it’s perfect to have that. If I was going to have a collaboration and have someone like ZAYN, this is sort of the perfect song. It sort of takes me out of my comfort zone, but kind of takes him out of his as well.
Freedun is taken from M.I.A.’s fifth and final album, AIM, due September 9th.
