Norma Jean Martine To Release Debut Album 'Only In My Mind'
Norma Jean Martine is set to release her blues inspired guitar-pop album, Only In My Mind, on September 9th via Virgin EMI Records.

Entirely self-penned, Martine wrote or co-wrote every track on Only In My Mind including three tracks with Joel Pott (Athlete) The album was produced by Danton Supple (Coldplay) with two tracks being produced by Ed Harcourt. Martine’s trademark husky vocals, which ooze sex appeal whilst blowing the roof off every venue she performs live in, feature on every song on the album.

I've been lucky enough to have a listen to the album and I adore it! She has some amazing pop tunes with infectious hooks. My favourite tracks are Sons and Daughters (A midtempo pop tune with lots of energy and an anthemic vibe to it); the piano-based ballad I'm Still Here showcases her lush husky vocals and I just can't get enough of it (I am a sucker for piano-based tunes, oh and don't get me started on that string section!!).

Hang My Hat is another song that I love: it has a good piano beat, awesome lyrics and an epic vibe to it! Love, love, love!
No More Alone carries on my love for her piano-based tunes. It is such a raw tune with mountains of emotion! She's without a doubt an incredible songwriter!
For those that love more upbeat tunes I would recommend Still In Love With You, No Gold, Animals, and the title track, Only In My Mind!





Martine describes Only In My Mind as fundamentally an album about love,
Most of the songs on the album are love songs and the many different seasons of love. Love isn’t just one emotion… it’s a weird word we use to describe an array of feelings, and sometimes you don’t even know that feeling can exist until it happens to you.


Only In My Mind’s love-theme may well have been what attracted the producers of upcoming film ‘Kids In Love’ (starring Will Poulter & Cara Delevingne) to feature one of the album’s tracks I Want You To Want Me, in an emotionally charged scene during the film.


To date Martine’s writing credits include Burt Bacharach, Ronan Keating, Italian stars Giorgia and Marco Mengoni, Italian X Factor winner Michele Bravi, German superstar Lena, and ex Pussycat Doll Ashley Roberts.
