Last night saw the final ever episode of American Idol broadcast in the US! The monumental finale will be broadcast for UK fans over at 4Music on Monday 11th April at 8pm.

An undeniable cultural phenomenon and staple of prime time TV for the past 14 years, American Idol has launched the careers of international superstars Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood and Jennifer Hudson, all of whom returned to perform.

Last night at the show was broadcast in the US, it saw a very special message from President Barack Obama, who commented that the show had "transformed television" and went on to speak about voting ahead of their US election.


It also saw explosive performances from judge Jennifer Lopez and previous winner Carrie Underwood. Tune into American Idol on 4Music on Monday 11th April at 8pm to watch the show in full and catch Idol alumni including Kelly Clarkson, and an appearance from Simon Cowell!




But first, host Ryan Seacrest will be joined by former judges and contestants, including the original trio - Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul and Randy Jackson - for 'American Idol: American Dream', a 90-minute special reflecting on the groundbreaking impact the series has had throughout its 15-season run, airing6.35pm on Monday 11th April, on 4Music.
