Today we see the release of Hozier's self-titled debut album. 13-tracks for our listening pleasure including a live recording. If you're a fan of this multi-instrumentalist you will find present on the album 3 tracks from his From Eden EP released earlier this year. His spiritual vocals and poetic lyrics made me fall in love with his music and I'm sure you'll love this album.
Take Me To Church is the best song off this album. The piano-driven tune is incredibly catchy and the way he tells a story is breathtaking. His way with words is flawless. Amen indeed!!

Someone New is another favourite song of mine. It is quite catchy, it has an infectious chorus and a very radio-friendly vibe. It is definitely a "lighter' song when compared to Take Me To Church. To Be Alone kicks off with a sick guitar riff and has been a personal favourite since his From Eden EP. Powerful lyrics and somewhat of a haunting vibe to it. Just amazing! From Eden is probably the more mainstream song off the whole album, very catchy and upbeat vibe. In A Week featuring Karen Cowley is a gorgeous duet, smooth and somber, just right up my alley. Sedated, one of the singles already released, is incredibly catchy, makes me want to sing along! I love the dark emotive vocals and the fact that it is a piano based tune.

Work Song's echoed-hushed lament of his vocals and the handclaps beat is quite captivating. Guys this album is gorgeous!! I love the folsky roots mixed with pop and indie/rock music. It is definitely a must listen. It is a breath of fresh air in the midst of today's booty-popping musical odes (which I'm not complaining). I can see his live shows to be superb with all these great melodies.
