Hey guys. I was lucky enough to interview young and incredibly talented Luke Potter. He talks about working with Ken Caillat and he would love to tour with Switchfoot! :) Check out the interview and get to know him a bit better!!

1. What made you want to follow music?

Although I was brought up surrounded by music (my dad was in a band 30 years ago) I didn't really think of music as a career until around 3 years ago. Then I picked up a guitar and immediately started writing songs.

2. How was it for you touring across the UK? Which show/place was your favourite so far?

It's been great getting out and playing around the UK. I don't really have a favourite place but I loved paying as part of a show to school students. That was awesome.

3. Did you ever expect to have your debut single, We’re Alive, to do so well in the US radios?

No. Whenever you get your music recognised it’s a real buzz.

4. What song - out of the ones you already released/written - means the most to you? Why?

At the moment my favourite is one that I recorded with the amazing producer, Bleu, in LA. It's called One Day and is available for FREE download from noisetrade.com/lukepottermusic

It's about forgiving yourself.

5. How was it working with producer Ken Caillat? Will you work with him again?

It was Incredible. To think of the artists this man had worked with in the past and to get the opportunity to work with him myself has definitely been one of the highlights of my career so far. I'd love to work with him again.

6. How about working with his daughter, Colbie? Would you like that to happen?

Of course. That would be utterly AMAZING.

7. Are you planning any collaborations/duets?

I have previously had the opportunity to co-write with a guy called Eric Berdon, who I met and worked with alongside Ken Caillat. He is not only extremely talented but a really nice person and I feel lucky to now call him my friend. We will definitely continue to work together...I hope! I'd love to duet with Katie Cole too, she's great!

8. Which artists influenced you the most to pursue a music career and to adopt this style of music?

I'm not sure about style but it was the Goo Goo Dolls who inspired me to pick up the guitar after hearing their song Iris.

9. With whom would you love to work with and why?

Obviously Jonny Rzeznik. There are loads of musicians that I admire and I would be overwhelmed to work with. So any offers?

10. Where would you most like to perform?

Madison Square Garden, of course ;)

11. If you were given the chance to pick one artist to tour with which one would it be and why?

Other than the Goo Goo Dolls, Switchfoot. They write inspirational songs!

12. What advice do you have for people who want to make it in this business?

I guess the same that I've been told, don't give up. And practice, practice, practice.

13. What do you think of the recent “british invasion” in the US (The Wanted, One Direction, and others)? Is it time for british musicians to take over the globe?

I hope so. What those other guys have achieved is incredible.

14. What artist are you listening to on your iPod?

Boys like Girls. I think their new songs are amazing,

15. If you weren't singing, what would you be doing?

Writing more songs...

16. If you could only listen to one artist the rest of your life, who would it be?

Goo Goo Dolls

17. What are the five things you can’t live without?

Friends, music, good food, love, family

18. What’s your favourite song of 2012?

I really can't choose. There is so much music I love but I really liked Here I Am Alive by Yellowcard

19. What’s your favourite show/series on TV right now?

How I met your mother

20. Ten years from now you will be….

Happy :) Doing music
