O manager de Britney Spears, Larry Rudolph, explicou o sentido da luta no vídeo de Hold It Against Me. Ele diz:
Há 2 Britneys distintas, temos a Britney pública e depois a Britney privada, e elas são muito diferentes uma da outra. O mundo pode não se aperceber disso, mas quem a conhece bem percebe isso. Mas há mesmo 2 Britneys. Às vezes as duas estão uma contra a outra, mas na maiora das vezes não. Isto é sobre Britney a ser forte e continuar no topo após todos estes anos. Mas existem várias interpretações para isto. E sim usamos uma dupla para filmar a cena de luta, algo que gerou confusão. Ela usou uma dupla somente para a cena da luta!



Britney Spears' manager Larry Rudolph has explained MTV the meaning behind the fight scene in her new music video. The singer is seen punching and kicking a double of herself in the promo and the double was just used for the fighting scene, nothing else!

"There are really two different Britneys. There's a public Britney and there's a private Britney, and they're very different.  Maybe the world doesn't really know that - maybe those of us who do know her really well understand that, but there really are two different Britneys. Maybe at some times the two Britneys are at odds with each other; most of the time they're not. There's some of that going on. I think it's also about Britney just being strong and still on top after all these years. But there's a few different ways to look at it."
