E a sequela do filme Star Trek de 2009 já tem data anunciada. 29 de Junho de 2012 é a data em que este filme vai estrear. J.J.  Abrams deverá voltar como realizador bem como o elenco principal : Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana, John Cho, Anton Yelchin, Karl Urban e Simon Pegg. Os guionistas são Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci e Damon Lindelof e a produção deverá começar no próximo ano!
