Award-winning singer-songwriter Emily Barker shares her brand new single Feathered Thing, a heartfelt, folk-pop song about dealing with grief. 

 

Feathered Thing is the latest single to be taken from Emily Barker's upcoming album, Fragile as Humans, which is scheduled for release on May 3rd through Everyone Sang/Kartel Music Group. What I like the most about this song is how expressive and emotive Emily Barker's vocals are, floating tantalisingly over the polished production. I really like how the song begins gently with oscillating piano and distant drums, until the arrangement gradually builds up in energy and pace with vibrant strings, bass drones and cymbal crashes matching the emotion pouring from her vocals.
