Krusoe Shares New Single ‘Starting Fires’
British indie/electro-pop singer and songwriter Krusoe has just shared his brand new single Starting Fires, an ode to the struggle of mental illness and the difficulty to reconnect with those who have lost their way.
Written by Krusoe and produced and co-written with Kylie Minogue's guitarist Luke Fitton, Starting Fires beautifully showcases Krusoe's storytelling abilities and gorgeous vocals. I am a fan of Krusoe's smooth vocals and how they beautifully convey the emotion of his storytelling and soar effortlessly over the warm indie-pop production. Starting Fires is a song about the disconnection we all feel when spiralling and is wrapped around a polished production packed with intricate guitar riffs and punchy percussion that create an overall warm, somewhat anthemic, atmosphere. Check it out below!
Speaking about the song, Krusoe said,
far too often the taboo of mental illness feeds greater isolation, we often treat addicts and the most vulnerable by isolating them further. It seems impossible sometimes just to say “i’m not ok”. Particularly when we have pushed everyone away, the way back up the mountain seems so much further to climb.
