ISLA Shares Solo Debut Single ‘Break The Fall’
South African singer and songwriter Isla Sutherland (ISLA) makes her official debut single as a solo female artist with the release of her gorgeous single Break The Fall, a warm piece of electro-pop music about the mixed feelings one has whilst in a long-distance relationship.
I am really enjoying her rich, powerful vocals and how they effortlessly convey the emotion of her storytelling. Composed by ISLA herself and produced by HEproducedit (Howard Edward), Break The Fall is a bittersweet alt/electro-pop song about the insecurities and doubts that a long-distance relationship can cause, but still having that hope that love will overcome the physical separation. This message is wrapped around a captivating production that beautifully blends pop, electronic and trap-infused elements, making the song quite a memorable listening experience. Check it out below!
Speaking about the song, ISLA said,
I wrote Break The Fall as an outlet to express all the mixed emotions I was experiencing whilst in a long distance relationship. There were times where I felt nearly hopeless and songwriting was a way for me to deal with the pain of missing someone I truly care about- you really have to learn to trust each other. The simple act of being in love is worth it all. I think the lyrics will resonate with the millions across the world who are currently unable to be close to their loved ones, and will hit even closer to home because of the COVID-19 pandemic in which we all were separated from people we care about.
