zleephouse Shares New Single ‘No Performance’
Los Angeles-based singer and songwriter zleephouse has just shared his brand new single No Performance, a euphoric piece of indie-pop music out now via 405thelabel.
No Performance is a relatable song about the end of a relationship and is wrapped around a polished alt/indie-pop production that I feel perfectly embodies his storytelling. I am particularly fond of the tone of his vocals and how they effortlessly convey the emotion of the lyrics over the lush, dreamlike soundscape. I am particularly fond of the moments he hits those high notes and how the song has a cool and infectious energy throughout. I am also really enjoying the futuristic synths, lush piano chords and rhythmic percussion that create quite a memorable atmosphere that keeps me coming back to it over and over again. This is definitely an enthralling listening experience on which zleephouse showcases all the emotions he felt having to leave a relationship to grow up on his own.
Speaking about the song, zleephouse said,
‘No Performance’ signifies the end of a relationship, but not in a toxic way. I realized that I had to end a relationship with a girl I really loved because I knew I wasn't in a place to be in one.
