Monalia Share New Single ‘Flying Away’

Oslo-based band Monalia have just shared their brand new single Flying Away, a captivating piece of indie-pop music.

I am really enjoying the smooth, somewhat haunting vocal delivery that glides effortlessly over the infectious electronic production. I also like how Flying Away moves from the very minimalistic and acoustic into a large and evocative soundscape. This song beautifully blends acoustic with electronic elements and the result is a memorable listening experience. I am particularly fond of its melancholic and dreamy atmosphere that is enhanced by soft vocals, flowing harmonies and powerful elements of electronica. Check it out below!

Speaking about the inspiration for the song, vocalist Stine Helén Tunstrøm said,

Life took a dark and strange turn last year, where experiences and discoveries were replaced with stagnation and isolation. Then it automatically becomes a necessity to dream away, because you find that life is at its most exciting and harmonious in your own imagination.

Vocalist and guitarist, Terje Halmrast added,

It can be a good survival strategy to get through hard times by longing for another world, where there is no sickness, death, worries or evil. We want to take the listener away from the everyday trials and into our musical universe. It started out very acoustic, but along the way, we discovered that the song wanted something more. There was so much room for experimenting, which created a rush of ideas.
