Devan Shares New Single ‘Almost’ ft. Corey Harper
Toronto-born/London-raised singer and songwriter Devan has teamed up with fellow alt-pop singer/songwriter Corey Harper to deliver a lovely duet titled Almost.
I am really enjoying Devan's sweet vocals and how they are beautifully paired with Corey's warm, emotive tones, both soaring effortlessly over the upbeat alt-pop production. I am also very fond of the driving guitar riffs throughout the song and how they are nicely intertwined with delicate, emotive piano chords that create quite the warm and intimate atmosphere for Devan's storytelling to soar.
Co-written by Devan and Kyle Reynolds, Almost is about the awkward adjustment of your early twenties when you feel like you’re losing sight of the person you thought you were and what you thought you wanted in life; and loving someone, but not trusting yourself enough to dive into the relationship. This relatable storytelling is wrapped around a captivating alt-pop production with gorgeous vocals and infectious melodies which I think you guys will enjoy. Check it out below!
Speaking about the song, Devan said,
I’ve been a fan of Corey’s music for a long time - he’s got one of my favourite voices. The song was originally written on piano, but when we were in the studio, Corey suggested a guitar part that everyone loved so much it ended up becoming the backbone for the song.
