BYRN Shares New Single ‘Wanderer’
Brooklyn based electro-indie/pop singer, songwriter and producer BYRN has just shared her brand new single Wanderer, a captivating piece of pop music which BYRN wrote, sang, produced and mixed in her Brooklyn apartment.
I am really enjoying her smooth, hypnotic vocal delivery and how it soars effortlessly over the dreamy, somewhat atmospheric, electronic production packed with bright synths and cool electronics. Wanderer is an infectious song about the feeling of frustration toward containment, yet reminding us that we're still curious, independent and free. The song feels perfect for the current pandemic times we're living in and its production sounds like the perfect escape from it. I am also loving the fluidity of the song and how everything fits perfectly together, creating quite a chill and laid-back atmosphere that is perfect for a relaxing day at home. Check it out below!
Speaking about the song, BYRN said,
She was born from a contained, alienating, and sometimes suffocating environment, but grew quickly into a reminder of the wild and unruly spirit. I think when we are forced to follow a new set of rules, we initially rebel, whether that be blatant disregard for rules, or our inner peace feels disrupted and we find a means to let go/let it out through creativity, anger, destruction. This song is that feeling of frustration toward containment, but the reminder that you are still curious, independent, and free. I wanted the production to be dreamy, but with movement. The traveling chorus synth is one of my favorite element because it really fits with the story I wanted to tell. This song was not meant to be genre specific, but just be a fluid, thoughtful piece.
