Beta Radio Share New Single ‘It Doesn’t Really Feel Like Spring’
North Carolina indie-folk duo Beta Radio, consisting of Ben Mabry and Brent Holloman, have just shared their brand new single It Doesn't Really Feel Like Spring, a lovely song taken from their upcoming EP, Way of Love, set to arrive on August 21st via Nettwerk.
It Doesn’t Really Feel Like Spring was written in the midst of the current Covid-19 pandemic and captures the unsettling feeling of one of the world’s strangest times through an ethereal prism of synthesizer and guitar. I am loving those warm and soothing vocals and how they instantly draw the listener's attention to their beautiful storytelling. This piece of indie-folk music is layered on top of a meditative arpeggiated synth line which is then joined by delicately plucked acoustic guitar, steady percussion, lush strings and emotive piano chords. The whole production gives me warm and earthy vibes and its overall introspective and cinematic atmosphere makes it quite a memorable listening experience. Check it out below!
Speaking about the song, Ben Mabry said,
Brent and I essentially quarantined together. He’s the only person I saw other than my parents. It literally doesn’t feel like spring. Everything is so weird right now. With all of this weirdness, a really interesting and unexpected peace has come to me, personally. It’s super bizarre, but maybe it’s a little bit of a gift to look at our lives and see what matters. The goal of the song is to take this odd experience into something hopefully beautiful.
