Urchin Shares New Single ‘Break In’

Urchin, the project of London-based producer and musician Leo Appleyard, has just shared his brand new single Break In, his first public step into the world of singing and songwriting. I am really enjoying those smooth, reverb-drenched vocals and how they are beautifully backed by gorgeous, sun-soaked acoustic guitar riffs intertwined with delicate piano keys. Then the song starts building up with edgy drums, heavy synth bass and cool electric guitar riffs giving the song rich textures and lots of rhythms.

Taken from his 4-Track EP Night Light, Break In takes the listener on an emotional journey through life in the Covid 19 Lockdown, exploring human psychology, trapped in a moment. I am really enjoying how the lush guitar parts and deep piano harmony hint at his jazz background but the edgy drums and heavy synth bass lines push this track well into the downtempo-electronic territory.
