connor & DJ Keeks Share New Single ‘Aftertaste’
Virginia Beach-based singer and songwriter connor has teamed up with fellow American artist DJ Keeks to deliver their brand new single Aftertaste, a song about going through difficult breakups.
I am really enjoying their smooth vocal delivery and how it easily connects the emotion of their relatable lyrics with the listener. Most of us have dealt with tough breakups and this song beautifully describes some of the feelings we go through after a breakup. The smooth vocals are backed by a chilled out production packed with an infectious beat and lush piano keys which create quite an intimate atmosphere for their message to soar. Speaking about the song, connor said,
Me and DJ Keeks wrote this song together while going through our own difficult breakups. This song was really hard to write for me because it touches on a traumatic experience I had with my ex boyfriend, and opening up about it is still really challenging. I wrote my part because I was angry, not just at him but at the world. She followed up with her verse, and the story it tells is held close to both of our hearts. This is also the first song I'm open about my sexuality in, using "he" pronouns. I hope it's as special to you as it is to us.
