Josh Alexander Drops New Single ‘Closing’
Australian, singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Josh Alexander has just unveiled his brand new single Closing, a song about the struggles and pain of having a long distance love. This is quite a beautiful piece of Folk-tinged, indie-pop music with smooth vocals and meaningful lyrics.
I am really enjoying the intricate acoustic guitars in this song and how they enhance the emotion behind his vocals and lyrics. Closing is quite a personal song for Josh as he has struggled with the issues of a long distance relationship and perfectly embodies how one feels when time zones and lack of contact, make it tough to hold on to that love. Speaking about the song Josh said,
Seeing this song come to fruition was a long time coming. Closing came really naturally to me when I began writing it and I knew I had to use it somehow. My girlfriend and I had been apart for a while, and it was becoming more apparent to formulate lyrics around the struggles of long distance relationships. Peter and I thought we would just do a short acoustic version and smash it out in a day, but 5 days in the studio later, we had a full and final version that we couldn’t have been any happier with.
