Cláudia Pascoal To Represent Portugal In Eurovision 2018
Morning guys. So last night we had the final of RTP's Festival da Canção where 14 songs battled to represent Portugal on this year's Eurovision Song Contest in Lisbon (Which I didn't get tickets for...). I had 2 favourite songs: Catarina Miranda's Para Sorrir Eu Não Preciso de Nada and Cláudia Pascoal's O Jardim. It seems that both the jury and audience shared my favourites.
Catarina won the jury vote, getting the equivalent to 12 points while Cláudia got 10 points from the Jury. Then public vote changed things by giving O Jardim 12 points and Para Sorrir Eu Não Preciso de Nada 10 points, making it a draw.
According to rules, in case of a draw public vote rules and so Cláudia Pascoal's O Jardim, written by Isaura, won Festival da Canção 2018! Congratulations!! This is a song about loss and it is sung beautifully conveying so much emotion. I hope the Eurovision audience loves the song as much as we do!
