Alyss announces 3EARTH EP and reveals new single ‘Envirus’
Envirus was motivated by the Dakota Access Pipeline situation at Standing Rock last year and the lyrics reflect the desperation of the situation. In her own words;
I had just seen a video of U.S. army veterans apologising to Native Americans at Standing Rock. The speech made by Wesley Clark Jr deeply touched me as much as it angered me that corporations in every industry are exploiting nature and humans for the sake of profit.Her new EP’s primary message centres around the notion of How do we move forward as a human race? The 3EARTH title relates to 3 options we can take for the future of our evolution. We can either create; a living breathing planet if we take honest action, a dead planet if we take no action or we simply maintain the status quo by taking minimal action. Alyss' desire is to push for a world, free from corporate interest dictating our reality and our natural resources,
This requires us to not only reconnect with nature, but with ourselves too. Honest action begins inside first, only then will we truly start to move forward.
Originally classically-trained, Alyss has been quietly making waves with a series of eclectic releases, all showcasing her unique talent and versatility as both a performer and a songwriter/ producer.
Previous EP releases have included her critically acclaimed Alchemy EP and Motherland EP on PMR Records.
Alyss’s writing and production skills are in constant demand and she has recently collab’d with Courage (Ray Blk), Conducta (Taya), Mono/Poly (Brainfeeder), Bearcubs (Tom Misch), Joe Hertz (Jones), Loxe (Nao remix ft Stormzy) and M J Cole.
Alyss has previously performed live alongside Skott and Sampha. She will next be performing live at her 3EARTH launch party The Pickle Factory on April 24th!
