RubēHill Unveils New single ‘Apartment’
Canadian artist Alex Stavropoulos-Laurie, aka RubēHill (pronounced Ru-bee-hill), has unveiled his brand new single Apartment. This is quite an eclectic piece of music mixing electronics with r&b and indie/alternative music. Loving those funky guitar riffs! It's a super catchy song that showcases his talents to create unique music. Stream it below!

Speaking about the single RubēHill said,
Musically, “Apartment” started with a drum beat inspired by LCD Soundsystem and Lucious. From there, the song was built bit by bit over the course of four months, with additional influence coming from Frank Ocean, Gorillaz, and Run the Jewels. It was unrelatable to anything I had previously written, and it required a certain amount of stubbornness to stick with. Lyrically, “Apartment” is about being trapped in a purgatory of thought, feeling simultaneously anxious about the past and the future. I felt this way after moving into a small apartment in the city, which physically embodied my anxiety.
Alex chose the moniker RubēHill inspired by the main character of Flannery O’Connor’s short story A Stroke of Good Fortune.
