London-based trio Hey Charlie have unveiled their new EP Young and Lonesome. This is the debut release from the trio who are making waves with their dynamic brand of new wave grunge-pop. Equipped with heavy riffs, catchy hooks and simple and empowering lyrics, Young and Lonesome is an accomplished debut produced by Tarek from Spring King. The EP is written from our own experiences. Beyond people just enjoying these songs we want to give girls songs and lyrics they can relate to and that represent the power and vulnerability of growing up.
Hey Charlie have become an unpredictable and cyclonic live force, having played a string of summer live shows including Kendall Calling, Lee Fest, BST w/Green Day and The Great Escape Festival as well as supporting Foster The People in London.
Young and Lonesome is a fantastic first offering from a band breaking the norm and putting the fun back into rock music. Hey Charlie feel like an antidote to the contemporary music scene, a trio of headstrong girls who all play their own instruments Lizz (guitarist & vocalist), Sophie (bassist & vocalist) and Lauren (drums & Bvs) , write their own music and create a live show unlike any other.
