Skinny Living release new single "Why"
Wakefield-based band Skinny Living have unveiled their brand new single Why, out now on RCA Records. This is a beautiful track with a haunting soulful vibe to it. I adore those piano keys, they made it sound even more melancholic and emotional.

Why is about Ryan's incredible bond with his sister. The accompanying video features her along with Ryan and its emotional impact is devastating and an incredibly brave first major label release with Ryan pouring very drop of emotion onto the screen. Check out the awesome music video below!

The four-piece deal in beautiful, haunting acoustic soul music, drawing on influences such as Bill Withers and Paolo Nutini and Why is the lead track from their forthcoming 6 EP.

Skinny Living began in 2013 when guitarist Will Booth was first floored by singer Ryan Johnston's incredible voice at an open mic night in their hometown of Wakefield, before being augmented by Danny Hepworth (guitar) and Rhys Anderton (drums).

The band are the product of relentless hard work and live shows over the past few years. They have done it the old-fashioned way, building their own fanbase, self-financing trips to the Netherlands and around the UK where they played shows and slept on the floors of friends, all without any outside help, until finally bagging a deal with RCA in 2017. Since then they have worked with a string of top producers including Jake Gosling (Ed Sheeran), Mark Ralph (Clean Bandit, Years & Years) and Steve Robson (One Direction).

This summer the band will be appearing at BST at Hyde Park on the same bill as Justin Bieber as well as main stage at Standon Calling and Haldren Pop Festival in Germany.
