Pumarosa Unveil New Single ‘Priestess’
Pumarosa have unveiled their brand new single Priestess, taken from the band’s much-anticipated debut album, The Witch, out May 19th on Fiction Records. I am hypnotised with this dark indie/pop tune and that final repeated mantra: "you dance, you dance, you dance".  Coming close to eight minutes in length this tune was produced alongside Dan Carey!

Throughout, Isabel’s lyrics are emotionally and politically invested; they deftly paint tales of social coercion, feminine emancipation and the striving for release.
I want to sing about women. Women’s characters and feelings, sexual or otherwise, are comparatively unexplored compared to male-female relationships or male-male.

Few new acts combine art, thought, sound and visuals quite like this, though for Pumarosa everything goes hand-in-hand.
Performing and partying is one of the ways of ridding ourselves of domination. It helps us engage with our anarchic tendencies and remember the essential need for openness and kindness. And it’s a really important way of saying ‘fuck you, we will stay in touch with each other, and ourselves.

The band have also lined up a spring UK and European headline tour featuring their biggest London show to date at Oval Space on April 20th. Further live plans and festivals will follow, with the likes of The Great Escape, Liverpool Sound City and Secret Garden Party already confirmed.
