Jens Kuross is pleased to announce the follow up single to his self-titled debut EP on London label Aesop. We Will Run is available digitally now and impacts on December 2nd.
His first foray into solo releases came the spring of this year with his self-titled EP. Having studied Jazz at the Berklee College of music in Boston, MA, he became an active member of Ry X, The Acid and Howling’s live band before stepping out with his own sound.
The EP gave us the mesmerising lead track Steadier, Nobody’s Problem, Try to Follow and Wilderness; a collection of songs that spoilt the listener with it’s wealth of songwriting talent and its crushingly emotive lyrics. With support from Radio 1, 2, Radio X, Beats 1 - and now nearing 1 million Spotify plays across the EP since release, it’s clear Jens is a refreshingly unique artist to keep a very close eye on.
We Will Run follows on from where these 4 debut songs left off, one of the earliest songs Jens penned, it perfectly displays his natural traditional songwriting skills in conjunction with his beautifully subtle production which at every turn transforms the simple song structure into something quite magical. He expertly uses harmony with his looped vocals to gently wash over a delicate piano chord structure. Not afraid of using space in his music, Jens affects his audience as much with the silent moments as with the more complex, multi-layered elements to create an intimacy many listeners are sure to connect with.
