E aqui têm uma nova banda que me deram a conhecer: Paper Thick Walls. Este grupo de Chicago é composto por Eric Michaels, Kate Schell, Roger Sherman, Andrew Sabo e Jacques René. Eles vão lançar o álbum de estreia, A Thousand Novels, a 3 de Maio e eu tive a oportunidade de poder ouvir e de partilhar convosco o que achei deste álbum!! Antes de mais a sonoridade do álbum me cativou logo de imediato e me fez lembrar de grupos como os Arcade Fire, Sigur Ros, Damien Rice, entre outros. A capacidade e a facilidade de navegarem entre sonoridade folk e pop é surpreendentemente brilhante. Eu amoooooo o quão excelente ficam as vozes de Eric e Kate e com as melodias fica absolutamente perfeito. É um álbum contemporâneo que nos leva numa viagem, por vezes melancólica. O álbum tem umas faixas mais "upbeat"/movimentadas como Overgrown e Old Weathered Wooden Dock. As minhas faixas favoritas são NyQuil, Orange Tree, A Thousand Novels e Portrait. Sinceramente é um excelente álbum para quem gosta deste tipo de música.

I am proud to introduce you to Paper Thick Walls. The members of this Chicago group are: Eric Michaels (vocals, guitar, motif), Kate Schell (vocals, piano, trumpet), Roger Sherman (upright bass), Andrew Sabo (drums), Jacques René (fiddle, mandolin, guitar). They are going to release their debut album, A Thousand Novels, on May 3rd and I had the opportunity to listen to this amazing and sophisticaded record! First of all their sound reminds me of artists like Arcade Fire, Sigur Ros, Damien Rice, among others. I love the way they travel through the indie folk and pop sonorities, amazing! What about Eric and Kate's voices? Their vocals mesh so perfectly well together and with all of the instruments is a pure eargasm! This record is a great body of work, extremely well put together yet it seems so effortless. I really love the melodies and lyrics that take us into this melancholic-like journey. There are also some more upbeat tracks like Overgronw and Old Weathered Wooden Dock. My favourite tracks are NyQuil, Orange Tree, A Thousand Novels and Portrait. Honestly it is a great album and I truly believe those that like this music genre will love them!!
